Scouts place flags on soldiers' graves

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A decades-old Memorial Day tradition honored those who served the country Saturday.

More than 2,500 Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts placed a sea of American flags at the National Cemetery in North Memphis.

The scouts planted more than 47,000 flags on the graves of those who served in the armed forces.

More than 75 cemeteries around the country now hold events modeled after this one in Memphis.
