CHL and IHL Talk Affiliation

On the Ice, the Mississippi RiverKings and the Central Hockey League have a New affiliation..

Two of Pro Hockey's most historic Leagues, the CHL, of which the 'Kings belong, and the International Hockey League, have agreed in a letter of intent to form a "AA" level Super League beginning this fall.

The merged Leagues will play under the Central Hockey Leagues' Banner.

Organizers say the arrangement should enable teams to recruit the best young talent.

The CHL competed with 15-teams last season, the IHL with 7.

Details for the new 22-team operation are to be hammered out at separate League Meetings later this month.

The CHL is in its' 19th-consecutive year of operation.

The IHL is 60-years old.
