DRUMMONDS, TN (WMC-TV) - Authorities in Tipton County continued their investigation Thursday into the murder of a Mid-South mother.
Around 8:40 Tuesday night, deputies with the Tipton County Sheriff's Office responded to 57 Richardson Landing Lane in Drummonds concerning a body which had been located in a wooded area behind a residence.
Upon arrival, deputies and detectives in the Criminal Investigation Division determined the victim to be 36-year-old Starr Lynn Harris.
Harris, the mother of three, had received severe blunt force trauma to the upper torso and head.
Two days after the discovery, Starr's husband, Rick Harris, was beside himself with grief.
"I can tell you from my side that you would not want anybody going through what I'm going through right now," he said.
Investigators spent Thursday focused mostly on the thick of the woods, and the spot where Harris' body was found.
"We're still conducting a lot of interviews," said Chief Donna Turner of the Tipcon County Sheriff's Office. "We are continuing to do that at different locations, executing search warrants."
Including a warrant at a house just down the street from the scene of the crime, where investigators searched the home and towed a car from the property.
"We're there because there's a focus of something at that residence that we're looking at, either to eliminate that or to get answers to the questions that we need," Turner said.
Turner added that Rick Harris has given his full cooperation.
"Until we make an arrest, anyone that knew Starr Harris and was especially involved in her life that particular day, whomever, they may be is a suspect," she said.
Meanwhile, Rick Harris wants his wife's killer off the streets quickly.
"If he'll do it once, he'll do it again, and I can tell you from my side that you would not want anyone going through what I'm going through right now," he said.
