The Shot Heard Round the world of College Athletics may have been fired Tuesday..
Reports on ESPN and University of Texas Website Orangebloods.com say the Big 12 may be dead as a league with its' top teams being gobbled up by the Big 10 and the PAC 10.
Orangeblooods.com reports the University of Nebraska Board of Regents has informally agreed to move the Cornhuskers to the Big 10, with a formal announcement coming Friday.
The Report also states Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Colorado, are all prepared to move to the PAC-10, making that League the First 16-team Super Conference for Football.
This could all become official very soon.
It could have untold ramifications for schools like the University of Memphis, who's Basketball is Strong but Football is trying to find its' way.
But, if schools like Hoops Powerhouse Kansas are totally being left out of the Super Conference equation, it doesn't bode well for the U of M.
