Four firefighters injured in early morning fire

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Four Memphis Firefighters were hurt battling a house fire early Friday morning.

Investigators said the fire broke out around 4:00 a.m. at 2037 Elzey Avenue in Midtown.

Two residents were able to get out of the home safely.

The four firefighters were injured as a result of an electrical shock from live power wires.  Three of the injured firefighters were transported to Methodist University Hospital and one was sent to the Regional Medical Center.

All four firefighters were treated and later released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
