For years, it was a Memphis Summer tradition.
Now after a 7 year hiatus, the Bluff City Classic is making it's return.
College and Pro players past and present kicked off play Monday in a throwback game at Southwest Tennessee Community College.
The Bluff City Summer league was a fixture in the Memphis basketball community for more than 2 decades, giving the top local college and professional players a place to work on their games.
Former Memphis Tigers and NBA star Penny Hardaway, and local businessman Stanley Blue, who starred at Carver High are behind the resurgence of the league.
Several current Memphis Tigers and Memphis based NBA players have signed up to play, including O.J Mayo, Lester Hudson and Thaddeus Young.
There will be 2-Games per night starting at 6:30 every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Every game is free and open to the public.
