WIDENER, AR (WMC-TV) - Four men, including two brothers, were arrested in connection with an execution-style homicide.

Investigators said Anna Mae Banks, 62, her husband, Nathaniel, were at home unloading feed from the back of a mini-van when a man walked up and shot Anna Mae in the head at point blank range.

"This guy just walked up behind us and I heard a shot and my wife fell in front of me," Banks said.

Banks said the suspect then tried to shoot him in the head, but the gun misfired twice.  The man did not rob Banks, leaving him clueless about a possible motive.

"I really don't know what to say," he said. "All I know is I lost a good woman."

Banks said the suspect got away on foot and tried to shoot him a third time before running down the road.

The St. Francis County Sheriff's Department was able to track down four suspects in nearby Hughes, Arkansas thanks to a vehicle description.

Sheriff Bobby May said the triggerman is Walter Brooks of Hughes, who is expected to be formally charged tomorrow morning.  Hughes recently served prison time for rape.

May said investigators are still working to determine why Anna Mae and Nathaniel Banks were targeted.

"It was obviously a cold-blooded act," May said.

The couple had been together for more than 40 years.
