TUNICA, MS (WMC-TV) - One man was in the hospital Wednesday night after a suspect opened fire inside a Tunica, Mississippi gas station.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Coastal Gas Station in the shadow of the Tunica County Sheriff's Department.

"It started outside," said clerk Hesham Alomari.  "When he came in the corner we saw a gun."

Tunica Police said a Kendall Smith showed up at the gas station and started shooting at the victim outside the store.  Smith then chased the victim, Anzio "Zo" Camper, inside.

Camper was the only person hit.  There was a bullet hole in the shelves near the bathroom where clerks and some customers took cover.

Smith took off, but the Sheriff's Department caught up with him and took him into custody.

Investigators said the shooting was over a growing dispute, but they would not give details.

Smith's mother said Camper had been after her son since December.  She also said there was a fight between the two last week at a local store.

Smith is behind bars in Tunica County.  Camper was in fair condition at The MED Wednesday night.
