MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The Mid-South was abuzz Saturday afternoon as one of our own took to the green in the World Cup against Ghana.
Some soccer fans decked out in Team USA gear, others wore temporary tattoos.
Among the crowd at the Flying Saucer in Cordova was Laura Howard, the wife of USA goalie Tim Howard. He has two children with the Memphis native.
"It's awesome," Laura Howard said. "The support from our family and friends is amazing and just for him to be wearing the US colors and for him to be supporting our country is awesome."
Though Team USA lost two goals to one to Ghana, fans were glad to see the husband of the Memphis native take his talents to the world stage.
