Ronnie Brewer Not given Qualifying Offer by Grizzlies

Now the Grizzlies have to deal with their next Free Agent Priority..Swingman Ronnie Brewer.

The Grizzlies Dealt with Utah to get Brewer at the Trade Deadline last season in what was scene as a solid move to bolster their bench with quality veteran help..

But, the former Arkansas star Tore his Hamstring in his first game in a Grizzlies Uniform last February.

He only played in 5-games for the Grizz and was shut down near the end of the season to rehab the injury.

The Grizzlies did NOT give him a qualifying offer, which means they could've matched any other club to keep him.

Wallace says Memphis fans may not have seen the last of Brewer in a Memphis uniform.

Wallace says the Grizzlies have not renounced his rights and will make a play for him on the open market.

Wallace adds it's a gamble they could get Brewer back, but their first priority was to sign Rudy Gay and they wanted as much capital on hand to make sure that happened.

After that, Wallace says the team wants to see where the League establishes its' Salary Cap number so they'll know how much they'll have to go after Brewer, or any other quality Free Agent.

Wallace says the Grizzlies still have the Marko Jaric contract on the Books at just over $6-Million dollars. That goes away next season.

The Grizzlies had to take on Jaric's contract in the trade with Minnesota to get O.J. Mayo.

Memphis gave up a conditional first round pick to get Ronnie Brewer from Utah.
