MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Memphis family spent the Independence Day holiday searching for a missing loved one.

Memphian Marlon Thomas left home on June 16 and has not been seen since.

In a wooded area behind Methodist North Hospital, Thomas' friends and relatives conducted a search for the missing 22-year-old man.

"He went to work Wednesday afternoon," said his sister, Crystal Thomas.  "He got off between 7:00 and 8:00.  He called me and said that he was going to go to the grocery store and pick me out some items and that was me and his last conversation."

Family members have printed up hundreds of posters with Marlon Thomas' picture on them.  They believe he may have met with some kind of foul play.

"It's been hard," said Crystal Thomas.  "We just want to know some answers.  It's been very stressful, some of us are not going to work, not being able to get through the day and we're praying on a miracle."

Family members thought they had gotten a break last weekend when Thomas' Nissan Maxima was discovered apparently abandoned at the Raleigh Village Apartments.  The search has since focused on the wooded area a short distance from the apartments.  There have still been no signs of Marlon Thomas.

"I have no clue," Crystal Thomas said.  "The strange thing is nobody knows anything."

Relatives said they will keep searching until Marlon Thomas is found.

Investigators asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
