MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A former Shelby County sheriff's deputy was sentenced Friday for filing a false report in connection with a traffic stop.

Alvin Dortch sat patiently in the courtroom as a judge sentenced him to four months in prison for filing a false report in 2008 during a shooting incident.

In May, a jury found Alvin Dortch guilty of two counts of initiating a false report in connection with a traffic stop. Dortch told investigators he was on a traffic stop when he saw Ignacio Arcos speed by in a pickup, weaving across traffic, before Arcos crashed and died.

But video from Dortch's dash cam told a different story.  In it, Dortch could be seen shooting at Arcos' pickup.

Along with his prison sentence, Dortch was ordered to attend an anger management class, perform 300 hours of community service, and he was given a curfew for the remainder of his sentence after release.
