MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Two men broke into two Midtown Memphis businesses and confronted the clerks at gunpoint.

Investigators believe the same man held a gun to an employee's head at Gamestop in Midtown and KFC on Jackson, forcing them to open the register and hand over the money.

"It's real scary," said KFC customer David Jones.  "I've been robbed before myself.  I know they were terrified."

The KFC robbery happened June 24.  Store surveillance video showed a man in a white mask.

Police said the suspect jumped the counter at KFC then held a gun to an employee's head and forced her to open the safe.  The suspect put the money in a dark-colored backpack.

A few days earlier, store surveillance video showed two men walking into Gamestop posing as customers.  One of them pulled out what appeared to be the same silver handgun used at KFC.  He put it to the employee's head and forced him to open registers.  They took the money and again put it in a dark-colored backpack.

The victims were not allowed to speak on camera, but one of them said it was horrifying to have a gun stuck to their head.

Police asked anyone with information about the robberies to call Crimes Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH
