SEATTLE, WA (NBC) - You may soon be able to get more than just your regular latte at the local Starbucks.
The company has added beer and wine to the menu at one of its Seattle locations in an experiment that could go nationwide.
The beverage and food menus would expand and the atmosphere would become less "coffee shop" and more "cafe."
Analysts say what Starbucks really wants is more of a neighborhood feel, to be a local after-work hangout.
The coffee chain currently does 70 percent of its business before 2 p.m.
Starbucks says it is responding to customers who want a more relaxing place to hang out in the evening.
