MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Memphis woman has been charged with allegedly abusing and severely injuring a three-year-old boy after he had a bathroom accident.

According to an affidavit of complaint, Daniella Ramirez was charged with aggravated child abuse after calling 911 to report injuries to the boy, who she said fell after taking a bath.

At the hospital, doctors took notice of the boy's injuries, including bruises over most of his body and face.  The boy was also suffering from cuts on his legs, a fractured right thigh, and a cigarette burn on his shoulder.

According to the affidavit of complaint, when Ramirez was questioned by detectives at 201 Poplar, she admitted to hitting the child.

The affidavit says Ramirez told police she gave the boy a bath, and was angry when he had a bowel movement afterwards.  Ramirez told investigators she hit the boy, and that he was unable to brace himself because of handicaps that are not described in the affidavit.

Monday, Ramirez remained in jail on $100,000 bond, charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect.

Ramirez, who does not have a criminal record in Shelby County, is scheduled to appear in court on November 4.

The affidavit does not explain the relationship between Ramirez and the boy.
