ARLINGTON, TN (WMC-TV) - A house explosion night in Arlington, Tennessee caused neighbors' homes to shake late Saturday night.
Sondra Brewer lives a quarter of a mile away from where this house exploded on Brunswick Road in Arlington.
"I heard a loud boom, a loud explosion," said Brewer. "At first I thought I was dreaming, but then my son knocked and said, 'mom, dad, did you hear that?' We walked out the door and saw flames."
"The windows rattled and everything," Brewer continued.
David and Angela Moore heard the explosion from even further away.
"It felt like a big truck of some kind ran into our house," sand Angela Moore.
Brewer said the fire was unlike anything she had ever seen.
"All exterior walls and roof were blown off," said Brewer. "Flames as high as the tree behind us."
Brewer's husband is a Memphis firefighter. He immediately jumped into action. Fortunately no one was inside the house.
The owner of the house, Horace Proctor, said the tenant moved out a day before.
Proctor lives next door to the house. His granddaughter was going to move in to help he and his wife out.
"Now we don't know what we're going to do," said Proctor.
Investigators were unsure what caused the explosion.
