MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Meredith Carlton, 23, posed for a mug shot around 11:30 p.m. Thursday after Memphis Police escorted her from FedExForum during Usher's sold-out performance.

"She probably doesn't remember what happened," said attendee Carla Fields.  "But everyone else around her remembers her."

Carla Fields said she tried to focus on Usher while witnessing the disturbance she said Carlton created.

"She got up during the concert maybe 20 times and each time she came back with more alcohol," said Fields.

Fields said Carlton and several fans got into a shoving match when they refused to get up for her.

"They told her to go to the other end and she threw a fit," said Fields.

According to an affidavit of complaint, FedExForum security eventually stepped in and Carlton was involved in an altercation with a security officer.

"And then, of course, the police came," said Fields.

Police said Carlton smelled of alcohol and that she repeatedly shouted at officers as they arrested her.

"It was a good time by all," recalled concert promoter Fred Jones.

Fred Jones was not even aware of the arrest and credits arena employees with keeping the peace, for the most part.

"The staff at FedExForum did an excellent job managing 11,000 people," said Jones.

Carla Fields said she wishes more people could manage themselves.

"The concert was great," said Fields.  "And she ruined it."

Action News 5 spoke with Meredith Carlton by phone.  She was released from jail shortly after her arrest.  She said she believes the charges against her will be dropped.
