WASHINGTON (CNN) - Demonstrators dressed in orange jumpsuits and black hoods stood outside the White House today in protest of the continued operation of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay.
Activists from Amnesty International and other groups called for President Barack Obama to shut down the detention center that opened nearly nine years ago as part of the "War on Terror."
The protesters want it closed before its 10-year anniversary.
Last week, Obama signed a defense spending bill that included a provision that made it harder to close the military prison.
The president said he plans to repeal the provision.
