MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Family members are searching for a missing DeSoto County man they say simply vanished into thin air.

Norman Held, 64, has been missing nearly two weeks, and with each passing day, his daughter, Rose Hall, has more questions than answers.

"What could of happened to him?" Hall asked Monday. "Where could he be? Why would he do this? Why would someone do this?

The grandfather of three was last seen on January 4 at BJ's Barber Shop in Horn Lake, Mississippi.

"The barber said that he was there talking, talking about the football game, was gonna go home and watch it, and that's the last we know," Hall said.

Family members said Normal Held does not suffer from any memory loss diseases, such as Alzheimer's or Dementia, which adds to the mystery of his sudden disappearance.

"I just can't see my dad not coming home," Hall said.

The DeSoto County Sheriff's Department has found few leads as they investigate the disappearance.  Held's truck cannot be found by its onboard GPS system, and a check of cell phone records turned up nothing.

According to Held, it's almost as if her father simply vanished into thin air.

"It's like we went off the side of the earth," she said. "Nobody knows anything."

Held was last seen driving a burgundy 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, with Mississippi license plate number DA5 150.

If you have any information that could help investigators, call the DeSoto County Sheriff's Department at 662-429-1475.
