Racy halftime show has lacrosse team in hot water

BOSTON (NBC) - A Boston sports team caught heat for their racy halftime show Saturday afternoon that involved a lap dance competition involving the mascot.

The Boston Blazers lacrosse team hosted its first home game of the season, and parents are upset about the entertainment during intermission.

"Something didn't seem right and then I'm seeing them doing the lap dance," said Eric Jones, who was at the game. "It's like, 'This is not going to turn out too good.'"

Jones captured the video at the game and posted it on YouTube, which featured three young women competing to see who could give the best lap dance to the team's mascot, Scorch.

"I'm hearing the crowd booing," Jones recalled. "I'm seeing parents with their kids leaving, storming out."

The Blazers president and general manager said the team would offer 2,000 free tickets to next Saturday's game as a show of the team's commitment to family entertainment.

Parents taking their children to the Celtics game Monday said teams should put on family-friendly entertainment.

"Just keep in mind that there could be little kids," parent Kimberly Waters said.
