Palin's numbers fall

(CNN) - A new survey shows Americans may not be as enamored with Sarah Palin as they once were.

The poll showed 56 percent of people surveyed have an unfavorable view of the former vice presidential candidate.

Thirty-eight percent said they have a favorable view Palin - two points down from October.

The poll was conducted Jan. 14 through the 16 after a difficult two-week stretch for Palin.

She was criticized after the Tucson shootings for her at-times charged political rhetoric.

A little more than 1,000 adults were polled by telephone.

The survey was conducted by the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation with an overall sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
