New beer dispenser makes serving faster and fun

MONTESANO, WA (NBC) - A new invention is going to cut down pour times and messes by filling up a cup of beer from the bottom up.

Josh Springer's idea was born out of frustration but is now being used by distributors all around the country. The cups have holes, with magnets, that open and seal the beer at super speeds. There is a video on Youtube showing the machine filling 56 beers in a minute.

"I was two margaritas deep when I came up with this," Springer said. "That's ironic."

"Bottoms Up" is being used by distributors across the country, including at Las Vegas' Thomas and Mack Center, where food and beverage manager Joe Carter says it speeds up the process.

"We've built it into the infrastructure of what we do," Carter said. "It really helps sales."

Springer added, "It doesn't mess up the beer. Beer needs to be treated like a lady."
