MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A pair of Ridgeway Middle Schools principals were recently suspended and are under investigation by the Memphis City School District.

Students at Ridgeway Middle School were given a letter notifying parents the principal and assistant principal were suspended several days ago.

The letter is signed by Dr. Kriner Cash and says Principal Lisa Henry and Assistant Principal Antonio Ryan were suspended.

The letter goes on to say the district is conducting a thorough investigation of the school's processes and procedures.

An interim principal is now in charge.  There was no further explanation from the district regarding the suspensions.

"This is the most vague document I've ever seen in my life," said parent Pete Carlyon.  "It didn't explain anything."

Carlyon said teachers handed notices in the school's parking lot saying they wanted the principals back.  Another notice that was handed out said, "Our principals are missing.  We want them back."

Carlyon said he does not think the suspensions were handled well.
