Woman allegedly uses son to help rob bank

LILBURN, GA (CNN) - A Georgia mom allegedly checked her son and two friends out of school to add manpower to a bank heist.

Police said Tawander Simmers, 35, used her 17-year-old son and his friends to help rob a Wells Fargo Bank.

Surveillance video showed a disguised woman demanding cash with two young men behind her.

"The three of them ran across the street, dropping the money bag when the dye bomb exploded," Lilburn Police Chief Bruce Hedley said. "They met up with a fourth suspect who was in a car waiting for them and sped off."

The getaway car crashed and the suspects attempted to flee.

All four suspects were arrested and charged with armed robbery.
