Chase ends with 1 deputy injured and suspect still at large

MARSHALL COUNTY, MS (WMC-TV) - A multiple county car chase ends with one deputy injured and the suspect still at large.

According to an authority with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, around 2am Thursday morning deputies responded to the Mt. Pleasant Shell Gas Station at Highway 72 and Taska Road for a domestic disturbance.  There were reports of a man ramming a woman's car at that location.

Once the deputy responded to the scene, he spotted what he believed to be the suspect's car and a chase began.

The chase lasted for several miles with authorities losing sight of the suspect in a field near the Fayette County/Shelby County line.

The suspect remains at large.

A Marshall County deputy who assisted in the pursuit was involved in a single vehicle crash and suffered minor injuries.

He was taken to Baptist Collierville and is expected to be okay.
