MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - The family of a 13-year-old girl who died after school said Friday they are contemplating a lawsuit.

The family claims school officials failed to call paramedics when the girl was injured on campus.

Action News 5 confirmed the potential lawsuit with the family and their attorney, Randy Fishman of the Ballin and Fishman law firm.

Fishman said the staff at Ridgeway Middle School and Memphis City Schools may be to blame for the death of 13-year-old Cecilia "CeCe" Snow.

Fishman said Snow died in December possibly as the result of a head injury sustained at school when she walked into a doorjamb in a hallway.  It appears Snow never received proper medical attention.

Fishman was contacted by the Snow family and put MCS on notice that the matter was being investigated.

Action News 5 reported last month that both the principal and assistant principal were suspended from Ridgeway Middle School.  The district would only confirm that there was an investigation of "processes and procedures."

An e-mail to the district Friday night seeking another statement was not immediately answered.
