Student caught using cell phone to spy on girls' locker room

SAINT PAUL, OR (NBC) - A student at St. Paul High School has been caught spying on the girls' basketball team by hiding his cell phone in their locker room.

The student was caught by the principal last Friday.

Marion County Sheriff's detectives interviewed witnesses and potential suspects in the case.

"I think that he should get in trouble and shouldn't have done that," student Austin McMillen said.

The principal said he equated the emotion and alarm it created to a student bringing a gun to school.

"It's very disappointing," Principal and Superintendent Sid Hobgood said. "I wouldn't want this on any student at any school."

Teachers and counselors at the school met with students and parents and reviewed the school's "Pride Policy" to deal with the harassment.
