MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - This weekend is your chance to purchase the prized possessions of several famous Memphians, including the late Isaac Hayes.

Friday, Melanie Hayes said her father's personal belongings have a lot of sentimental value, and she hopes to share that with Memphians by putting Isaac Hayes' prized possessions up for sale.

"He loved Memphis," she said. "Memphis was his heart and soul, so to be able to share him with other people, at the same time it's kind of emotional...a lot of memories."

Friday, fans and prospectors got a chance to shop through Isaac Hayes' possessions at the Deb Wade Estate Sale.

"All of his exercise equipment, furniture, musical equipment, a lot of books," Hayes said.

Among the memorabilia was a warrior shield clock made by one of Hayes' close friend, and his dining room table.

Also up for grabs were items formerly belonging to former Tennessee State Senator John Ford and his ex-wife, Tamara Mitchel-Ford.  Items for sale included their dining room table, dishes and couch.

"Tamara had done many interviews on that couch," Wade said.

No matter how big or small, the auction promised something for anyone looking for a piece of Memphis history.

The sale runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. through Monday at Ewing Moving and Storage on East Shelby Drive.
