MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Memphis sixth grader is becoming a YouTube sensation after he made a nearly full-court shot to beat the buzzer during a recent basketball game.

Calvin Austin, III, 11, attends Harding Academy.  His recent shot may never be repeated.

"I don't think I would make it again," said Austin.

With only one second left before half-time during a game last weekend against St. Ann's, Austin made the nearly full-court shot.

"I thought I could make this shot," said Austin, "and when I threw it, it went in and I was very happy."

Austin launched the ball from beyond the opposite foul line.

"They were saying, 'good shot, amazing shot,'" said Austin.  "Running up on the court and giving me high fives and stuff."

Austin's father said he almost missed his son's excellent shot.

"As I looked up and I saw it go in, at first I was shocked," said Calvin Austin, II.

Every game at Harding Academy is recorded and people from all over the world can now see Austin's shot thanks to a post on YouTube.

Austin said he will never forget the memory of making the shot.

"I think it's very cool," he said.

Austin said he also loves to play football.
