MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Memphis Police are searching for four men who carjacked and abducted three victims with knives and machetes Saturday.

Police said three men were driving in the area of Getwell and Willow early Saturday morning when four men approached them with knives and machetes.  The men carjacked and abducted the victims.

The Sheriff's department said one of the victims was able to escape at a nearby gas station at Getwell and Interstate 240.

Police said the other two victims were stuck in the car for about a 17-mile drive to the 3300 block of Thomas Street.

Police said when one of the victims got away, he ran into a nearby Mapco station for help.  An employee said the man was bloody when he came in.  They called 911 but by the time the ambulance arrived, the victim was gone.

One of the victims who got away was transported to the MED in non-critical condition.

At 7:00 p.m. Saturday, a man riding an ATV discovered an abandoned van in a field.  Sheriff's Deputies found blood on the backseat and a bloody shirt on the ground outside of the van.

The carjackers abandoned the victim's van in the field next to a mobile home complex.

"Of course it concerns us, because I understand the folks are still on the loose," said Junious Scott, manager of Country View Mobile Home Park.

Investigators searched the area with dogs and a helicopter.  They later learned all three victims were accounted for.

Scott said the field where the van was abandoned has been a site of trouble in the past.

"That field over there is an ongoing saga," said Scott.  "It has been a problem for this community."

Investigators have not yet released any descriptions of the four carjackers, who were still on the run Sunday.
