MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - A Mid-South woman is under arrest for driving under the influence, though investigators say the condition of her passenger was even more notable.

The incident happened Friday night when a state trooper assisting a broken down 18-wheeler noticed a car swerving down Highway 51 South of Millington.  Fearing for other motorists' safety, the trooper left the broken down vehicle and gave chase.

According to the affidavit of complaint, the trooper pulled Melissa Gentry, who, when prompted for her driver's license, kept giving the trooper a bank card.

Investigators said Gentry's blood alcohol level at nearly twice the legal limit.  Additionally, there was a 14-year-old girl in the passenger seat that was, "very intoxicated."

The girl was taken by ambulance to LeBonheur Children's Medical Center to be treated.

Monday, Gentry remained locked up at 201 Poplar on $3,000 bond.

According to police, this was the second time she has been charged with driving under the influence.  In 2002, she was found guilty of the offense and paid a $350 fine.
