HERNANDO, MS - (WMC-TV) - Three suspects are in the DeSoto County jail after detectives seized over 200 pounds of pot.

DeSoto County Sheriff Bill Rasco said that much marijuana is worth a lot of money on the streets.

"$175,000", said Rasco.

On Monday, Shelby County law enforcement gave a tip to the DeSoto County Sheriff's Department of drug activity in Walls, MS.

"They had the information that this marijuana was down there and called our guys and we got in there with them and got a search warrant," said Rasco.

Authorities found 255 pounds of marijuana inside a home at the end of a long driveway at 6405 Poplar Corner Road.

"[It's] isolated, back off the road, so they can get people in there to distribute them and someone could come pick them up," said Rasco.

DeSoto County Sheriff's Department charged Hector Lujan, Felipe Bejarano and Eleazar Aguirre with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.

"We just want people to know that if they're going to sell drugs, don't come to DeSoto County because we're going to be looking for them," said Rasco.

Sheriff Rasco credits a first time alliance with neighboring law enforcement for this bust.

"That's one of the things we strive most for is a working relationship with MPD and Shelby County Sheriff's Dept and our departments worked well together," said Rasco.

He said, in this case, state lines were temporarily erased in order to catch the bad guys.

"It makes no difference who gets the credit," said Rasco. "We get the drugs of the street and get the people arrested."

All three men are being held at the DeSoto County Jail. There bonds have been set at $175,000.
