MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - Enthusiastic fans and University of Memphis students gathered Friday to watch the Tigers play Arizona in the NCAA tournament.
In the middle of a work day, Tigers fans took up every single seat at Buffalo Wild Wings at Poplar and Highland.
"If we can be up by one when it says 00:00 on the clock, I'll be happy," said Tigers fan Michael Moore.
Moore said he worked a 12-hour day Thursday to watch the game Friday.
"I'm amped up," he said. "Blood pressure's up, my heart is beating fast. I've got Tiger blood running through my veins."
Steve Witt used a vacation day so he would not miss the Tiger's date with the Big Dance.
"Is it worth it? So far," said Witt. "If they lose, I don't know."
The Tigers started the game with a 10-1 lead. That lead turned into a three point deficit by halftime.
As the fight with the Arizona Wildcats continued, Tigers fans kept hope.
After a year out of the NCAA tournament, Friday's game was one Tigers fans said was a long time coming.
"I expect them to be here," said Tigers fan Oneka Poinbexter. "They've got the talent.
The Tigers suffered a devastating 77-75 loss, with fans not moving until the final shot at the buzzer.
