JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A Mississippi woman has been sentenced to life in prison in Jackson following her recent conviction in the death of a woman who received illicit injections of silicone in the buttocks. Tracey Lynn Garner of Jackson was sentenced Tuesday in Hinds County Circuit Court.

Katelyn Beard's body was found Tuesday morning in a rural area north of Jackson, and authorities say a 19-year-old man has been captured and charged with aggravated assault and kidnapping in the case.
HOUSTON (AP) - Halliburton says it has agreed to pay $1.1 billion to settle a substantial portion of plaintiff claims arising from the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The settlement, which is subject to court approval, will be paid into a trust until appeals are resolved over the next two years.
