Suspect shot in head after robbery

(WMC-TV) - The tables were turned on three female robbery suspects when their victim's boyfriend shot one of them Saturday.

A woman coming home to the Trinity Lakes Apartment Complex early Saturday morning noticed she was being followed by women in a black car. She called her boyfriend to let him know.

Police said when she got home to her Cordova apartment, the three women confronted her with a gun. Police said they demanded her purse and backpack and were hitting her with their fists.

The suspects took her purse with $240 inside.

The victim's boyfriend then came out. The suspects pointed a gun at them through their car's window.

The boyfriend fired one shot at them, breaking out the back windshield. The suspects drove off. They then ran out of gas and called police.

Paramedics took 20-year-old Britney Harrison to the hospital. They took 21-year-old Tikita Bradford and 20-year-old Amber Jackson to the robbery office.

Neighbor Kimberly Johnson said she heard the shooting.

"It got pretty intense, then I heard a gunshot and heard a car drive off," she said. "That is definitely frightening just to know right there, right below my window someone was actually shooting a gun."

Harrison was initially in critical condition after getting shot in the head. She was later released from the hospital and taken to the robbery office.

All three suspects were charged with aggravated robbery.

Police said they have not charged the boyfriend who shot the robber, but they have not cleared him. It is still under investigation.

Investigators said if you ever think you are being followed, pull into a police station.
