Fuel leak forces emergency landing

OMAHA, NE (KETV/CNN) - A United Airlines Flight heading from San Francisco to Boston was forced to make an emergency landing in Nebraska on Wednesday.

Crews thought the plane's engine might have been leaking fuel, and that caused the pilot to head to Omaha.

David Schiffer was one of the 181-passengers on the flight, and he said everyone took the delay in stride.

"I think people mostly reacted decently, because I think people were already frustrated and they already accepted that we were really late, so it was just like alright, this is the latest ... bad day of traveling," he said.

Schiffer says take off in San Francisco was for three hours because the plane had mechanical trouble.

The passengers boarded a replacement plane in Omaha and continued on to Massachusetts.
