Wife makes plea to public to help find husband of 62 years

George Nicholson George Nicholson

(WMC-TV) - A Fayette County family is doing whatever it can to find an elderly man who's been missing for over a week.

George and May Nicholson just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last Sunday. Three days later, George Nicholson took off towards Tunica and hasn't been heard from since.

"I have a five thousand dollar reward out if they'll help me locate him, just locate him," May Nicholson said.

Nicholson says her husband George like to go down to Horseshoe Casino every now and then to play the slot machines. He was last seen in Memphis, along Millbranch. That's where he stopped at an electrical supply store to ask for directions to Tunica.

"I think somebody followed him and I don't think he made it," May Nicholson said. "They knew when he was asking for directions to the casinos that he had to have money to go to the casino."

Nicholson was last seen in his red GMC Sierra truck, tag number is 779-JLP.

May Nicholson says her husband's truck is easy to spot because of the broken passenger side mirror.

"I've hired a helicopter and a fellow well-driller with a plane, Rodney Wilson, has tried to help us," she said.

May Nicholson says she'll do whatever it takes to find her husband, no matter the cost.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Department says they've reviewed the surveillance video from the Horseshoe Casino several time in the past week.

There hasn't been any indication that George Nicholson actually made it to the casino last Wednesday.

If you have any information that can help authorities locate George Nicholson, call the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at 901-465-3456.
