Man shot in the face in front of children expected to survive

(WMC-TV) - A Memphis man was shot in front of two children at Sisco's Foods on Wells Station Road and Grey Road Tuesday night.

Tardarius Williams has been shot three times.  Tuesday night, he was shot in the face.

Williams' aunt, Lisa Hart, said her nephew used to make trouble, but has been cleaning up his act.

"Definitely got it out for him.  For what reason, we don't understand," said Hart.  "Family's kind of upset."

Hart held vigil at her home for Williams, who was still at the MED Wednesday.

"He's still got the bullet in his head," said Hart.

Williams was at Sisco's Foods just after 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.  He was riding with an old friend whose children were in the back seat of the car.  Another car pulled alongside and two suspects shot Williams in the face.

The children were not hurt, but Williams was rushed to the MED in critical condition.

"He's good kid," said Hart.  "He just hangs with the wrong people."

Hart said Williams is able to communicate and is aware of his surroundings, but tests revealed an air pocket in his brain.

"My nephew, he was in a gang, but he's turned his life around," said Hart.  "Going to church."

Hart said she suspects gang members shot her nephew this time.  She begged for the violence in Nutbush to stop.

"A lot of people over there are scared of the gangs over there," said Hart.

Williams is expected to survive again.  If you can help solve this shooting, investigators ask that you call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
