Memphis Police issue warrant for runaway wedding planner's arrest

(WMC-TV) - Memphis Police are now on the trail of a woman facing serious charges for turning two brides' wedding dreams into a nightmare.

Air Force sergeants Levette Little and Rico Stone tied the knot in Memphis Wednesday, despite losing almost $10,000 to runaway wedding planner Jennice Collier.

Bride Mary Smith is out almost $2,800 thanks to Collier, who was planning her September wedding.

"I'm just trying to make sure she doesn't do this to nobody else, because she's wrong," said Smith.

Smith said there was some consolation knowing Memphis Police have issued a felony warrant for Collier's arrest.

Further investigation revealed Collier has operated under at least one other name.  Within the past few days, she has changed her Facebook name from Jennice to Jan.

Offers for free or discounted services have been pouring into the Action News 5 newsroom.

"I felt really bad for the brides," said Malisa Klug with Affordable Party Rentals.  "It's a lot of money to have to put out on a wedding, so for them to not be able to have their payments paid and it be taken from them, it's sad."

Memphis Police said more charges against Collier could be coming.  The caterer for both brides said he is suing Collier for forging documents that made it appear that the brides had been paying on their catering bill.
