TUNICA, MS -

(WMC-TV) - Investigators continued their search Thursday for a missing Fayette County man whose truck was found in the Tunica Cutoff late Wednesday evening.

George Nicholson, 82, disappeared from his Arlington, Tennessee home on June 29.  He was headed to the Tunica casinos.

Around 7:35 p.m. Wednesday, the Tunica County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call from the owner of Harding Point in regards to a red pickup truck.  After running the tags they determined the truck belonged to Nicholson.

The driver's side and passenger's windows had been rolled down and the keys were in the ignition.  No wallet or ID was found in the truck at first glance.

Investigators spent Thursday searching the woods for any sign of Nicholson or his body.

"At this point we're not suspecting foul play," said Louise Linzy of the Tunica County Sheriff's Office.

However, multiple sources tell Action News 5 they also found a rap music CD in Nicholson's truck, and investigators are not sure if Nicholson drove into the woods, or if the truck was dumped.

Nicholson's son, Nick, says his father did not hunt, and has never been to the property where the truck was found.

"I remember the old days of Splash Casino being here, and he may have been confused and come across this way," Nick Nicholson said. "That's the only way I know he'd been down here, him doing it on his own."

Nicholson said he planned to stay close to investigators until answers about his father's fate are found.

"I mean I don't want to wish the bad, but if something had to happen, I'd rather he did it to himself rather than somebody do it to him," he said.
