Man's plan to overcome fear backfires

DALLAS (KXAS/NBC) - A Texas man's attempt to overcome his fear of heights turned into a three-hour mess when cables on a bungee ride he was one became tangled.

Monday, Dallas firefighters used a fire truck ladder to free William Mancera and his fiancee Thalia Rodriguez, who were trapped 50-feet up at the Zero Gravity Amusement.

Mancera and Rodriguez were checked at the scene for possible heat stress due to temperatures hovering around 100 degrees.

There were no injuries reported after the incident.

Diego Rodriguez said his sister arranged for Mancera to go on the ride with her to try to help him deal with his fear of heights.
