(TVNZ/CNN) - Steve Williams is no longer on the bag for golfing great Tiger Woods and he's not happy about it.
The caddie says he was "disappointed and shocked" that Woods decided to sever their successful 12-year working relationship.
Williams also criticized the timing of his dismissal since he stood by Woods during a tumultuous couple of years that included a divorce and a troubling sex scandal.
"I mean given the fact, what's transpired in the last 18 months, I certainly, along with a lot of other people lost respect for Tiger. And I pointed out to him when I came back to Augusta in 2010, after what had happened, that he had to earn back my respect and I thought he was doing that but obviously that isn't the case right now," Williams said.
Woods and Williams joined forces in March 1999 when Woods had won just one major title.
During their partnership, Woods won 13 majors and 50 other PGA Tour titles.
Woods has not yet named a replacement. The world's former No. 1 has been sidelined from competition because of leg injuries.
