Investigators reviewing evidence following Millington TBI raid

(WMC-TV) - New details were revealed Thursday in the TBI raid of the city of Millington.

Millington Mayor Richard Hodges declared that we will all eventually learn the whole story.

"It's politics as usual," he said Wednesday.

Wednesday, investigators logged seized items in the lobby of city hall, including multiple computer towers and hard drives from inside the mayor's office.  Investigators also hauled out boxes of evidence and loaded them into unmarked cars.

Thursday, the district attorney's office said investigators are scouring documents and reviewing the content of those computers.

Eventually, they must report to a judge that evidence was collected, though the deadline defined by state law is a "reasonable amount of time based on the type of evidence collected."

The TBI said it will take time to build a case, which will eventually be put before a Shelby County grand jury for consideration.

Thursday, multiple sources told Action News 5 that six different people have received subpoenas to appear before a grand jury next week.

Meanwhile, Hodges and his family prepare to bury his wife Rita Hodges, who died Tuesday of an apparent suicide.  Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening and the funeral is Saturday morning at the First Baptist Church in Millington.

Investigators would not confirm the target or targets of their probe.
