Shooting suspect's body found on roof of Memphis house

Andrew Woodley, Sr. Andrew Woodley, Sr.

(WMC-TV) - The body of a man wanted for shooting his son in a Pizza Hut parking lot was found on the roof of a Memphis house Monday evening, investigators said.

Andrew Woodley, Sr., 55, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 5300 block of Derron Avenue. Woodley was wanted in connection to a shooting Saturday night that left his son in critical condition.

The discovery baffled neighbors, who couldn't fathom how Woodley's body ended up on the roof.

"I can't imagine how somebody would find someone on the roof and why somebody would climb up there in this heat?" Martha Payne asked.

Kay Duroscelay, who lives nearby, said authorities had little to say as they investigated at the scene.
"The police told me last night to go back in my garage and stop being nosey," she said.
So far, investigators have not identified said exactly how Woodley died, or his connection to the residence. Tuesday, no one answered the door there.

"I don't really know the people next door," Duroscelay said. "We'll speak and say hello, how you doing, and that's it."
"It's frightening when it happens right next door to you," Payne added.
