(KXAS/NBC) - There is a new way to get rid of that unwanted cellulite. Using radio frequencies, it claims to rejuvenate collagen and tighten skin.
The Venus Freeze treatment has been available in Europe a little over a year but it just became available in the United States this summer.
"What's really exciting about it is that it really works and that it's painless," said spa owner Lisa Cobb.
Cobb has had several cellulite treatments, but she says this technology has an obvious advantage.
"The older technology radio frequencies can be very painful. You can burn somebody fairly easily with them, and it doesn't go as deep or get as good of a result," she said.
Cobb says the radio frequencies rejuvenate collagen making the skin appear smoother after a few sessions.
"It feels like a hot stone massage is exactly what it feels like," said Cindy Ellig, a client at Cobb's spa.
Now she's hoping to see the same results around her face.
"It's subtle, it's not a drastic change and that's what I like about it," Ellig said.
