HEBRON, ME (WCSH/CNN) - Hundreds of people took part in the Redneck Olympics summer games in Hebron, ME.
Events range from tire burning and popping to mud runs, where drivers go as fast as they can to get through a couple hundred feet of mud.
Driver Dennis Damon said the mud runs were the main reason he came.
"There's good people, good times and abuse on vehicles, that's about it," he said.
For others, just watching the event was good enough.
"Watch some trucks go through the mud, that's the best part of the Redneck Olympics," Justin Richardson said.
If truck driving doesn't interest you, the Tire Beer Trot seems to get a lot of attention.
"You have to run the end of the tires, if they OK you at the end, you have to drink one full cup, and then if you come back through to this end and if you still have a cup, you have to drink it. So whoever wins should be interesting. Will be fun," said Jamie Hart, Tire Beer Trot participant.
With all the non-stop action, many of the spectators and participants think the Redneck Olympics beat out the Olympic Games.
