DES MOINES, IA (KCCI/CNN) – An Iowa mother saved her daughter from kidnapping by punching the alleged abductor in the face.
Police say Robert Harding, 48, tried to lure the 13-year-old daughter of Holly Pullen into an alley. Instead of going with the man, the girl told her mother.
When Pullen confronted Harding, he asked to marry the girl and inquired about whether the mother had any interest in signing the girl away.
"He looks at me and says, 'I want to marry the red head, I want to marry the red head,'" Pullen said. "I came unglued at that point, I'm like, ‘Dude, she is only 13.'"
At that moment, Pullen punched Harding in the face. The girl's father and his friend also fought with Harding.
When police arrived, they say Harding admitted he was trying to get the girl alone to have sex with her.
Harding was charged with enticing a minor under 16 and a parole violation.
