JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO (KCNC/CNN) - A Colorado teacher is fighting to win her job back because she says her contract was not renewed because she pumped breast milk at work.
Now, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is stepping in to help her fight the Denver-area school.
"In my heart I believe I was not renewed because I asserted my rights as a nursing mother and wasn't willing to let it go," said Heather Burgbacher, a teacher.
The ACLU plans to file a formal lawsuit.
School officials say the teacher's contract could be terminated or not renewed at any time and that her job had "changed significantly from last year to this year."
