GREENVILLE, SC (CNN) - Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann told a crowd of supporters Tuesday that she will lower gas prices if she's elected president.
"Under President Bachmann, you will see gasoline come down below $2 a gallon again," Bachmann said to a crowd in Greenville, SC. "That will happen."
If she is elected, that may be a tough promise to keep.
Gas prices are tied to global oil prices, and are not controlled by Washington.
While Bachmann did not specifically say how she would help gas prices come back down, her website says she would ease restrictions on drilling.
