Family believes skeletal remains may be missing man

(WMC-TV) - A road crew discovered what appeared to be a partially decomposed body in a drainage ditch near I-240 West and Getwell Thursday afternoon.

Police have not confirmed anything about their investigation, but the remains could be seen from the air in video captured by Chopper 5.

The family of Bramlett Walker showed up at the scene after hearing a body was discovered.

"Very difficult, especially not knowing for two weeks," said his wife, Carolyn Walker.  "It's been two weeks today he went missing."

Bramlett Walker, who suffers from dementia, walked away from his home on Knight Arnold around midnight two weeks ago.  His family said he has done it before, but always come back until now.  The family put up flyers and searched.

"We seen it on the news," said his nephew, Darrius Grayson.  "That's why we came out."

Traffic sped by as investigators gathered clues.  Walker's wife, son and two nephews waited for any information.  They stood at the ditch after crime scene officers left.

Carolyn Walker noticed an adult diaper in the ditch.  She ran up the hill to notify the remaining officer.

"Yeah, he had on Depends," she said.

The body was too badly decomposed for identification at the scene.  Carolyn Walker suspects it may be her husband, but hopes for the best.

"Lord, don't let it be him," said Carolyn Walker.  "Don't let it be him."

Bramlett Walker does not live far from where the skeletal remains were found.
